but is expected to be available soon from the following Web

the program or subscribe to the Scan Mailbox Announce mailing

This mailing list is moderated and very low volume.  It is used
only as a means of advising users about new versions of the
program.

Please see the supplied User Guide, accessible from the 'Help'
menu in the program, for information about using Scan Mailbox.

This program is available in both a 32-bit version for Windows
95, 98 and NT and a 16-bit version for Windows 3.x

Scan Mailbox V1.0 is supplied in four versions:

A 32-bit version for Windows 95, 98 and NT:

smb3201.zip    This is a full version of Scan Mailbox with an
               InstallShield installation program.

smb3201u.zip   This is an update to Scan Mailbox for those who
               already have Scan Mailbox version 0.75 or later
               installed.

A 16-bit version for Windows 3.x:

smb1601.zip    This is a full version of Scan Mailbox which
               requires manual installation.  An automatic
               installation routine is not available for
               Windows 3.x

smb1601u.zip   This is an update to Scan Mailbox for those who
               already have Scan Mailbox version 0.75 or later
               installed.

You have downloaded the full Windows 95/98/NT version in the
distribution file smb3201.zip.  This should have been unzipped
into a temporary directory.

The installation procedure is as follows:

1.  Close down all Windows programs.

2.  Find the file setup.exe in the temporary directory using
    Windows Explorer and double-click on it.

    The InstallShield installation program will guide you
    through the installation process.

3.  If you don't already have the Microsoft vb40032.dll file
    in your c:\windows\system directory, download this file
    separately from one of the following Web sites:

	  http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~kempston/smb/
          http://www.kempston.demon.co.uk/smb/

    as vb40032.zip, unzip it and copy vb40032.dll into
    c:\windows\system.

4.  Save the smb3201.zip distribution file elsewhere in case
    you ever need to re-install Scan Mailbox and delete the
    contents of the temporary directory.

5.  Start the Scan Mailbox program by clicking on the Start
    button, then on Programs and finally on POP3 Scan Mailbox.

Please have a quick look at the Scan Mailbox User Guide before
running the program for the first time.  To view the User Guide,
load the file "manual.doc" into Word from the temporary
directory before installing the program or from the Scan Mailbox
directory after installing the program.   The User Guide can
also be displayed from within Scan Mailbox by selecting 'Manual'
the 'Help' menu.

If you don't have Word on your system, you can download
Microsoft's free Word viewer from:

The manual is also supplied in PDF format and a free viewer for
this format is available from:
